Native Media has received numerous awards for documentary works, for unique achievements in cultural diversity in the community, and for cultural diversity television programming and the internet.

Native Media’s style demonstrates the heart of Ben and Sue Charles work by presenting the story from the inside, as a participant, not as an outsider looking in. They believe in helping the stories be told, and preserving the history, culture and languages of Indigenous peoples.

See the paddles in the photo above, same exact shape and design as the silver paddle pendants below. This same shape and design paddles have been used for countless centuries, yet a non-Native man recently claims to have created the original design and claims to ”own” the ancient design and to have a “Copyright” on it. Clearly it is NOT possible to own a copyright on a design that has been in use for thousands of years. Ignorance, in this case, is NOT bliss.

Additional Ventures of the Charles Family

As some may remember, Sue graduated from Fox Travel Institute and earned certification in many advanced training courses. She worked in the Travel Industry for 14 years. Those were the days when she represented the Travel Agency to the community, created and escorted group travel, booked and ticketed both group and individual travel… all the old-fashioned method: by phone and airline computers.

After several years in other types of work – including video and television production, Sue and Ben now own their own Internet Travel Business, Ad-Venture Travel. Now-days most people prefer to research and book their own travel on the internet. So, it made sense for Sue to get back in the industry.

With online services you can shop at your own convenience, night or day.  Research and book your own air travel and hotel, rent a vehicle, send flowers, book a cruise, book a golf vacation or a honeymoon, purchase event tickets, get your Passport and Visa applications, check airport delays, send special gifts, and find travel health advisory information.  Technology has changed the way people find information, shop, and a host of other tasks that only a few years ago were available only to the ”professionals”.
